Request details

Hi,

I have all my email addresses set up through my website which is hosted with Go Daddy. Periodically I have a problem with emails being rejected even though emails have been sent to those addresses before successfully. Please see the attachment for more information.

I would like someone to either fix the problem or advise me on how to fix it.

Thanks
Gary

Questions

  • Hi Gary, what is the mail environment you are using Exchange, Mail Daemon or Linux based???????

  • Hi Enrique, Our website is sitting on a Linux server so I guess the mail environment is Linux. Gary

  • The reason for this error - "'553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts - is that your mail application has not authenticated to the mail server. In order to send mail through our server, your email program must authenticate. There are two ways to do that. Have you also checked with GoDaddy, could be their mail server having issue.

  • This issue has been ongoing for some time so I don't believe it is a problem at Go Daddy's end. I realize it is an issue with authentication but not sure how to fix it. Thanks. Gary

  • Are you using port 25 or 465 when sending outgoing mail. Some ISP redirect port 25 to their own mail servers which could cause outgoing AUTH failure.
