Systems engineer with emphasised devops responsibilities in a client facing role. I have a responsibility to deliver automated solutions through the use of configuration management tools such as Ansible, and see the current trend of automation and the adoption of a devops culture, along with the tools that enable that culture, as an invaluable asset for any company looking forward. Scripting (bash, python, java, go), containerisation and cloud provisioning (AWS) have aided in delivering these solutions.

I currently work under a solutions architect/PostgreSQL expert. As such, I have configured and deployed several PostgreSQL installations and am comfortable with the administration of that database. I have also implemented customised monitoring tools (Prometheus, nagios/icinga) to complement these databases and the servers they reside on.

Ansible PostgreSQL snippet

An example of an Ansible playbook that installs and configures a PostgreSQL database. This is quite a large playbook and has been used several times successfully, deploying to both dev and prod environments.

Golang snippet
