I started this Short Film mostly to draw contrast on the way we view ourselves over nature, Brumbies in this scenario. The more I spoke to people about the Brumby the more I was actually draw towards this question of 'what is Australian Culture these days? There is some heavy parts of Ourstory and some to be damn proud of. Like the Man From Snowy River. However my generation, Gen Y, being born on the cusp of the digital age has left us with a now somewhat unique set of instilled learnt behaviours. I was about 14 before I got my first mobile and that was mostly for snake. I was 22 before I had a dumb phone. I feel as though our connection to nature is imperative to our survival. The Indigenous Australians thrived for a minimum 60,000 years prior to the British Empires arrival. That's got to count for something. Now we have what we have, like the Brumby. We've made our beds so to speak. 'But we need solutions' they say, like someone else will fix it for us. It's all about education right? Well Nature is a language free education as well as the solution. Simply being out there teaches us that's where the answers lie. It's Mindfulness with purpose. Having the time to listen and contemplate my thoughts in order to leave the world a better place then when I arrived.

Style consumes every aspect of life. From the way we dress, how we behave all the way to our handwriting. The biggest difference for snowboarders is the level of risk involved in perfecting that style.

Snowboarding is one of the youngest extremes sports to reach the main stream. Finding all it’s niches seems to be coming more to the light these days then ever before. Skating has their scenes, surfing has their locals and their soul surfers. Snowboarding is now stemming into an entire new world of physics defying style.
