I am a career newspaper journalist with 20 years experience on Fairfax Media newspapers such as the Canberra Times, Armidale Express, Glen Innes Examiner, Guyra Argus, and Acting Managing Editor and senior reporter for the Yass Tribune. Most recently, founder and proprietor of Scoop Yass Valley newspaper. I have been awarded an Australian Walkley Award for Excellence in Journalism as part of the Canberra Times editorial team that covered the 2003 Canberra bush fires. I have reported within the Parliamentary Press Gallery and ACT Legislative Assembly and specialised in covering legal rounds at the ACT Supreme and Magistrates Courts. I have a Country Press Association cadetship, a Bachelor of Communications: Journalism and I am a qualified digital graphic designer. I am proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. and Lightroom) software, video editing software such as iMovie, and website construction and maintenance on Wordpress, Drupal, Typepad and Blogger platforms. I also have experience writing and maintaining online shopfront software, x-cart html. I am experienced in maintaining social media marketing campaigns, news promotion and updates as well.
