If you're looking for a wordsmith who can craft clear and engaging content then I've got you covered. Whether it's an article, a business presentation, website copy, blogging, a story, or even your resume, the written word is my jam. I have a knack for taking complex information and explaining it clearly. Sometimes it takes more skill to keep things simple than it does to waffle.
My skills include creating original content, editing, and developing creative rewrites to freshen up an old piece. Even as a young child my favourite past time was writing and making up stories and magazines to share with everyone. My extensive experience is backed by several formal qualifications. I have a Bachelor of Communications (Advertising, Writing and History specialisations), as well as a Bachelor of Business (Prof. Accounting with Business Law and Economics sub majors) and most recently, a Bachelor of Counselling. Furthermore I have a Certificate in Advanced Reparative Parenting (working with kids who have suffered trauma) and a Certificate in Biblical Analysis of Economics. I attained Distinction-High Distinction level averages in all my degrees. In addition to ad hoc work I currently write a regular finance piece for a Sydney magazine, blogs for a real estate agency, an engineering firm, a cleaning company, and am working on some children's books. With a proclivity for both logical and creative pursuits you wouldn't be wrong to say that my interests are diverse and that the way I think is a little outside of the box.
Although it's not something that people typically associate with a creative writer, I am actually a fully qualified tax agent and Chartered Accountant (and still maintain my qualifications through casual work and ongoing CPE in the field). The specialisation I most enjoyed was dealing with the unusual cases. I would research the client's situation and relevant case laws so that I could write complex advice, and where necessary, make applications to the ATO for a decision. My business experience means I actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to many financial and business topics. I have also worked as Youth Worker (running a group home and later providing foster care/relief), and Youth Group Leader, am a mother with young children, and have completed a year's worth of voluntary work in counselling. I particularly loved creating and running group programs utilising art therapy, and creating and running a parenting education course.
Now that you have a glimpse into who I am, it's your turn. Who are you, what are you missing, and how can I help?
