Quote required for a heat reading device. This device is to use laser technology for accurate heat reading and this is to be done every 30 seconds until turned off. If the heat reading exceeds 60 degrees Celsius, then a signal is sent to a safety switch which immediately cuts off the power supply. The safety switch can be reset manually to turn the power supply back on. A rough diagram showing the idea is attached.

Speclux

Hi William,

Hope you’re well!

I’m interested in your project, would you be able to share some further details so we can analyse and get back to you with a proposal/quote?

Feel free to email further details to Josh@speclux.com

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Many thanks Josh

Would this help?

Components: • Laser: A laser diode is used to emit a beam of light that is focused on the object to be measured. The laser diode should be chosen to have a wavelength that is well absorbed by the material being measured. For example, a laser diode with a wavelength of 1064 nm is well absorbed by water. The photodiode should be chosen to have a wavelength sensitivity that matches the wavelength of the laser diode. Opens in a new window te.com Photodiode • Microcontroller: A microcontroller is used to control the laser diode and the photodiode. It also converts the light intensity measured by the photodiode into a temperature reading. • Temperature sensor: A temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the environment around the device. This is important because the laser diode output power is affected by the temperature of the laser diode. Opens in a new window iqsdirectory.com Temperature sensor • Actuator: An actuator is used to cut off the power supply if the temperature reading exceeds 60 degrees Celsius. The actuator can be a relay, a contactor, or a solid-state relay. Opens in a new window firgelliauto.com Actuator Operation:

  1. The microcontroller turns on the laser diode.
  2. The light from the laser diode is reflected off of the object and detected by the photodiode.
  3. The microcontroller converts the light intensity measured by the photodiode into a temperature reading.
  4. The temperature reading is compared to the set point of 60 degrees Celsius.
  5. If the temperature reading exceeds 60 degrees Celsius, the microcontroller sends a signal to the actuator to cut off the power supply.
  6. The power supply can be turned back on by manually resetting the actuator. Additional features: • The device can be powered by a battery or an AC adapter. • The device can be calibrated to provide accurate temperature readings. • The device can be equipped with a data logger to record temperature readings over time. Safety: • The device should be designed to be safe to operate. The laser diode should be shielded to prevent direct exposure to the laser beam. The actuator should be designed to fail in a safe state. Applications: • The device can be used to measure the temperature of machinery, bearings, and other equipment. • The device can be used to monitor the temperature of food and other materials during processing or storage. • The device can be used to prevent fires by cutting off the power supply to equipment that overheats.
