Hi, Stewart. I resolve issues with PHP websites for my clients all the time. I have been running my consulting business for more that 13 years and I have dual skillsets as a system administrator and a software developer.

Because the major version number is staying the same for this upgrade, and Drupal 8 uses semantic versioning, changes to modules should be very minor in order to bring them up to date. Your biggest concern is likely to be "abandoned" third-party modules that are no longer receiving updates from the vendor. I can research and suggest alternatives if you wish.

After the project is completed, I can provide you a minimal maintenance contract in which I keep your Drupal installation and its modules up to date and inform you immediately of security issues published by vendors.
