To formulate a fictional name, I wrote down a list of words that came to my mine when I thought of music. I was drawn to the word soundwave because of the potential it presented, in terms of creating a interesting graphic for it. Wanting to expand beyond the standard image of a record image, I was inspired by the wavy lines contained in the visual representation of the noise.

Final design of both the logo and accompanying album cover record would slot into. To keep the album cover unified with the established logo, I kept the design really simple. This allows the brand to really stand out, therefore making it obvious and uncomplicated, by continuing on with the rhythm created from the line underneath 'records', achieved through extending this line to the left and right of the circle.

The aim of this project was to improve my photoshop skills, in particular manipulating words and letterforms via the use of variating filters and layer effects.

Starting in Adobe Illustrator, I typed out the word and used the pen tool to drag down and disform the bottom of each letter, to obtain the melting metal look. Once that was completed, the new formed shapes were transferred into photoshop where layer effects/style and filters were applied. A subtle metal texture is also applied in the background to reinforce the melting metal part.
