Generally, freelancers don't pay for staff, business rent, commuting costs or many other overheads, so they can keep their fees lower than a typical firm paying all of these expenses. By hiring a freelancer, you're cutting out all these added costs and just paying the basic hourly wage.
$7 to post a project or job advert. That's it. If you don't find the right person for the job right away, you can re-list your job for no extra charge. OzLance charges no other fees.
Like any recruitment process, you'll get great applications and probably a few lemons even though we actively try to keep the lemon quotient low. Some of our freelancers come from senior roles in reputable companies and others are new university graduates, the key is finding the right freelancer for your job. You can request work samples, resumes and qualifications to help make your choice easier.
While it depends on the individual job, chances are the answer is a lot. You can view our pricing studies recommendations to find out more.
OzLance is a much better alternative to part-time, casual and contract staff and in some cases, even full time workers can be found here. Currently we provide freelancers in seven occupations but the list is always growing.
That's why so many clients come to us looking for a better alternative! As former freelancers ourselves, we've heard the stories about far-flung workers failing to understand the project and delivering incomplete or shoddy work. We've used our insider understanding of the industry to find smarter ways to attract quality freelancers. We're here to provide the better alternative, with the right balance between quality and affordability.
We're saving you money! As former freelancers ourselves we've seen our competitors try every trick in the book. We've been undercut by competitors quoting $5.00 per hour and watched them take 100 hours to do a 4 hour job. Quoting per job encourages the quickest, most honest and cost effective deal for the client.
At OzLance we aim to deliver best-fit applicants, meaning fewer time wasters. There's nothing worse than reading 200 resumes and not finding the person you need, so we've introduced specific job categories to ensure only the best qualified and experienced applicants apply.
Our list of occupations is growing all the time. We will soon expand further into online marketing, IT and administrative services. Sign up for our newsletter now to learn about all our exciting new changes on getting the best from your Freelance worker!
Freelancers work from home. You will not need to provide a workstation for your freelancer. You may request meetings with the freelancer but you will most likely be charged for that time.
Payment is made directly to the Freelancer either via Direct Deposit, PayPal, Cheque or Money Order. We recommend using PayPal as a secure method of online money transfer. Freelancers may request a deposit before work commences and additional progress payments on large jobs.
A start date will be given when the freelancer submits their quote. You may then negotiate milestones and completion dates via private messaging. Depending on how strict your deadline is, you may wish to do this before engaging the freelancer. We recommend following a milestone system with progress payments to ensure speedy completion of the job.
Jobs where the work is of a sensitive nature are frequently offered through OzLance. Like any recruitment process you should check references and credentials thoroughly before commencement. While OzLance can accept no responsibility on such matters, you can request the freelancer signs support documentation, such as a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before work commences.
To prevent disagreement, OzLance strongly recommends all negotiation on matters of money and time be done prior to freelancer engagement and only through the OzLance system (so that a record of all interactions is kept). Regular updates, work samples, feedback and progress payments should be made to minimise risk to both parties. All payments should be made through a third party payment system such as PayPal to ensure they are recorded.
If a dispute arises, OzLance encourages both parties work diligently toward a mutually satisfactory solution. If a solution cannot be reached, both parties will be required to enter into dispute resolution through a third party organisation such as PayPal.
The OzLance team does our best to ensure feedback and reviews are accurate. If you feel that you have unfairly received a negative review from an OzLance freelancer, please contact us directly with any supporting evidence such as emails or work samples. OzLance was established to give employers and freelancers a fairer, better option, our goal is to make everybody happy!
