My goal is to set up distribution business in Australia that combines online retail distribution (B2C) and wholesale distribution to specialty stores (B2B). The questions to be answered are:
- Where to set up the business: Adelaide or Sydney or Melbourne
- Do I hire a full service warehousing/handling/shipping company or do I set up my own warehouse operation on a leased warehouse?
The decision must be based on the combination of warehousing and shipping costs, given different levels of sales volume.
The warehouse space must be from 1000m2 to 2000m2.
The shipping cost must be estimated based on a matrix with 3 shipping origins (Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne) and 5 shipping destinations (Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane).
The average shipping order will be $300 with 45Kg per order.
The sales distribution to each destination can follow the regular GDP distribution.
