I am looking for unix administrator job and I have over 10 years experience. I took the duties and responsibilities include:

1. Installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of various operating systems

2. Maintenance includes applying patches to resolve system security or operation issues;

3. Support for various COTS products used in the operational baseline, including user support and technical assistance for commercial vendor application software as required;

4. Provide system-level and user-level support to Engineering personnel, including integration and troubleshooting assistance, and general system administration help;

5. Installation, configuration and maintenance for user workstations/PCs;

6. Support to and coordination with engineering staff working with Tier 1, 2 and 3 organizations for system configuration and integration issues with existing systems and new installations;

7. Track licensing and support agreements;

8. Engage in project-oriented and ad-hoc tasking

My Skills:

1. Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems

2. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Tru64 UNIX, and VMS operating systems

3. Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills

4. Also available for unscheduled call-in as well as prearranged support during periods outside normal business hours

Desired Skills:

SAN experience - particularly with fibre channel switches, HP EVA & MSA controllers & interfaces

Familiarity with installation, configuration and backup of Oracle and MySQL databases

Familiarity with current COTS computer hardware - particularly HP, IBM and Oracle

Familiarity with network configuration and troubleshooting - particularly Cisco

Understanding of High Performance Computing (HPC) and clustering technology

Working knowledge of server, storage, and desktop virtualization technologies - particularly VMware

Familiarity of data acquisition and processing technology

Working knowledge of COTS backup software - particularly Veritas or Data Protector
