Robert Rooth
Business Planning and Financial Analysis

From a young age, my ambition was to become a professional footballer and compete against the best players in the world at the best stadiums. Unfortunately, I never made it professionally but I'll let you into a secret, I still have the same dream.

At the age of 20, I was given an opportunity to work for an Asset Management Company. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but enjoyed the environment and soon developed an understanding of the financial markets and the various vehicles investors use to grow their wealth. Being exposed to this was a great education in itself which resulted in developing a personal interest in my financial well-being which has also enabled me to help others over the years.

During my time in the UK, I spent over a decade in the Investment Management sector, working for Global Financial Institutions enabling me to develop a unique skill set and experience. Such skills have given me the confidence to build a personal investment portfolio and discuss with others interested in doing the same but unsure where to start.

I moved to Australia in 2014, which sparked many new challenges, especially with regard to my next career step. Having relocated to the tropics of Darwin in the Northern Territory, the work I had built my career on, didn't exist which meant it was time to test the skills I had developed in a new field. In fact, over the last six years, I have adapted to each challenge that has been presented and reinvented myself. I am proud of what I have achieved during this time and believe I will continue to develop personally and professionally with the best yet to come. I moved to Brisbane in 2018, which is now very much a place called home.

What I enjoy most is meeting people and building meaningful relationships and feel this is just one of my strengths. I truly believe this is the foundation of where great things begin. Creating rapport by actively listening shows people you have respect for them which results in trust being built and it is from here that things compound for the better.

I have realised I naturally take a human-centred approach to problem-solving. I believe people always come first and this approach creates growth organically whether delivering a project, building a team or growing a company's bottom line.
