digital media creative
I am a digital media creative and building architect based on the Gold Coast, Australia. With 30 years private-sector experience, I now work on a freelance basis.
Adept at imagination and innovation - yet with a respect for the practicalities associated with implementation, functionality and usability - I am results-oriented and focused on achieving effective solutions, fulfilling clients’ briefs and timeframes, whilst preserving design integrity.
Areas of expertise - Digital media & graphic design; content, technical & academic writing; proofreading; photo editing; video editing; web design; logo design; 3D modeling & animation; music production; audio-editing; architecture; architectural visualisation.
I am also experienced in technical and content writing, using formal or informal language. These include feasibility, design, project, game design reports, journals and critique essays. My proficiency in academic writing is post-graduate, employing referencing styles like APA and Harvard.
3D model and rendering of an apartment living room created using Cinema 4D Studio (Image).
Note: Refer video file included in this portfolio.
Designed, created and produced by this author, including the building, interior, fittings and furniture, miscellaneous items, surface textures, background images and accompanying music.
A higher level of photo-realism could have been achieved by using an advanced rendering plug-in like VRAY. As it is, illumination and rendering were carried out using Cinema 4D only.
This video was kept intentionally short and compressed to minimise file size and viewing duration. Where necessary, please pause play for viewing specific images.

"Significantly, Yoo’s effervescent survey distinguishes between Gratification Sought (GS) and Gratification Obtained (GO). This highlights actual experienced gratifications, or otherwise, during the online user experience and after. This is crucial. After all, how can the newspaper effectively tailor their user interface and interactive features to satisfy readers (GO), without first understanding the readers’ sought motives (GS)? Recognising the differentiations minimises potential shortcomings from perceptions or erroneous conclusions."

"Game scaling will be realistic with most of the world in the background. City buildings, bridges, mountains and valleys and so forth will appear in the distance. Railway lines, motorways, rivers, bodies of water, shorelines of islands and the like, will form boundaries of the physical game space and players cannot go beyond. Locked doors will restrict entry into buildings and the like, unless entry to an internal space is intended."

A reflection of New York City - Impressions of "a city that doesn't sleep..." - a one-minute tourism video.
The video duration was intentional and a challenge to convey the ambiance, soul and heartbeat of NYC within a limited time parameter. Among other benefits, the short duration provides flexibility in its online use.

"... CGI is here to stay and for good reason. It provides high quality visual-imagery and is far easier to control being accurate and flexible, and more cost-effective than traditional methods of film production involving expensive set-pieces and props, large numbers of extras and hazards to safety like real explosions. This contributes enormously to maintaining, or reducing, budget."
