About the project

This is for furniture/fittings/equipment fitout for a new hospital, ranging from waste bins to complex integrated OR electronic systems. Each item has a unique code. DB must import .xls generated by Revit and add editable fields like required services, weight, supplier, price, PO number, etc. Reports required are similar to pivot tables, e.g. extract of TV set sizes locations suppliers prices dates PO numbers. From time to time an updated Revit spreadsheet is generated; this must be imported and:

  • existing DB data updated without loss of added fields,
  • new items appended.

    Hi Rod, From what you have described I should be able to do this, but before I come up with a quote could you fill in a few details please

    • Could you supply an example Revit XLS file so I can confirm what is involved in extracting the required information
    • Is the list of editable fields just those you note or would there be more added sometime in the future?
      • Do you want to be able to add editable fields without updates to the application?
    • What version of MS Access are you running?
    • Do you have some details of what you want to see in the reports?
      • How many different reports are you after
      • Outline of the columns for each report
      • Is there any graphics required, headings, footers
      • Format of the reports - Printer, XLS, CSV etc
