We have a professional doc about 30,ooo words that has been professionally written and checked....but we have made a few alterations. So, we really want a fresh pair of eyes.
I would usually allow about 2 to 4 hours to read 30,000 words. (depending on the content and complexitity of editing). However, I'd only charge for the actual time spent reading the document.
I am a professionally qualified proof reader and copy editor as well as a teacher of languages and literacy. I work annually as a marker of national writing tests and as a proof reader of school reports. I am passionate about my native language, English, and its correctness, and this has led me to freelance work in this field. My skills in all areas of English, including both UK/Australian and US spelling, are excellent (I consistently score in the top few percent in any tests). Projects I have worked on of late include a website which had been translated from the Turkish, some maths teaching games, a cook book, a set of short stories and two children's stories which are published online (see http://einarpetersen.com/doku.php?id=lonelygirl_uk). I also provided storyline advice and feedback for the author of these stories. Other recent projects include a set of consumer review articles, a lengthy financial document, a trekking website and a set of summaries written for a teacher professional development course website. I also volunteer as a proofreader for Project Gutenberg, have been accepted by the Author Services Network as an advanced proofreader and as an editor for a new website 'My Paper Check', and have worked regularly as proofreader for a local yachting magazine and for school reports. Here are a couple of feedback comments on recent projects I have worked on: • I feel extremely lucky that Daphne responded to my job posting. I am definitely adding her to my list of preferred contractors and am looking forward to working with her on all editing and proofreading tasks I will need help with in the future. • Daphne is a breath of fresh air. She is professional, independent, and proactive. Will definitely being hiring Daphne in the future for future projects. Thank you for your attention to detail and your work through you heart. Editing seems to be a passion rather than a job for Daphne. I can assure you of regular communication and consultation, accurate work and a fast turnaround time; I am also always happy to re-work anything that should prove necessary, and to send work back in sections. Please send me a brief sample of your text to complete as a test if it would assist you with your selection process. Many thanks for considering my bid.
Hi there. I'm a professional editor working across many fields, and enjoy nothing more than getting my teeth into a document, be it fiction, non-fiction or professional. I have a background in magazine writing and editing which has given me great appreciation for deadlines, and have now moved into freelance editing as my main focus. The work I take on is varied, and includes editing English translations of Russian work.

Hello, my specialty is editing / proofing of Academic and professional documents, often for post-grad students. An experienced, trained teacher of English and multi-published author of reference texts, I was a Research Fellow at Australia's National Film & Sound Archive. I have given a flat fee quote based on a $20 an hour rate. My normal rate is $35-50 an hour (1000 wds an hour) but being in China I can offer a lower rate. I can start ASAP. Thank you for your time and consideration. Robert
Before I was Evolvier, I was Fresh Eyes. My attention to detail and ability to connect to content is the driving force behind my business. :)
Nobody has asked a question yet, you can be the first.
