I am a professional writer and editor in Western Australia, originally from the US. I have been the managing editor of 7 different magazines and a contributing writer to a number of publications. I also have experience in book editing (fiction and non-fiction). My degree is in communication arts with an emphasis in journalism, and I've been writing and editing professionally for more than 20 years.

I have done a fair amount of similar work to this on The Gutenberg Project. This is a volunteer project turning books in the public domain into e-books. Volunteers check the e-page against the original to make sure they are the same. I have enjoy the methodical nature of this work and find it fits my skills of being detail oriented with an excellent grasp of the English language.

I have always had a love of the English language, which led me to become a high school English teacher and then a proofreader/copy editor. I have a keen eye for picking up errors in other's writing (not my own!) and like to work to a deadline.
