I need software written to identify and analyse patterns derived from a random number generator. I have data on excel spreadsheets that show history of wins and losses. I need the software to give an alert when a pattern nears completion and is able to call up the history of when the pattern has occurred and the success or fail of the completion of the pattern. I can supply the spreadsheet but I will need to meet and show the data in person, hence the need for a local person to the Gold Coast or Brisbane.

Just to confirm my understanding of your requirement, do you expect a desktop application that periodically loads new spreadsheets and alert the user on screen when a certain pattern is detected?

Do you have a set of patterns you expect or should the application be able to detect common patterns?

Also, how would you like to be alerted? (e.g. email, on screen)

Hi pskr,

Sorry for my late answer.

If the software can load off a spreadsheet that would be great as the staking plan is on the spreadsheet.

I have maybe 20 patterns I have detected manually, there may be up to 30.

The alert would need to be on screen as the turnover is quite rapid, eg 60 results per hour.

Thanks for the enquiry,

Cheers Doug

Thanks for your reply Doug. From your descriptions, I think most of the complexities is in the pattern matching as it also needs to be fast. I now also see that the patterns are a pre-defined set.
I understand your need to meet in person to describe the pattern in detail but would you be able to give me a simple definition of a "pattern"? For example, would it be like a certain sequence of numbers you are trying to detect?

Do you also need to store the completion of the patterns in anyway so that you can look up later for instance? This could add a database component to the software depending on the complexity of the data to be stored.

Also, in terms of the user interface, what standard would you be expecting? Do you expect to see graphs or just textual representation of the patterns detected? Obviously adding graphs, etc will require more effort and money but this may be a high priority for you. If you could refer a software sample you had seen before, that would be great.

I am sorry about the barrage of questions. I would like to provide an accurate quote as best as I can.

Cheers, Phillip

hi phillip, i have a spreadsheet I can get to you with a sequence and the patterns in a separate column. They are basically x and y results. x being fail, y being success. So some of the patterns are switchback - xyxyx with y as the completed pattern, x as a failed pattern would you be able to give me a simple definition of a "pattern"? 212 - yyxy with y to complete the pattern, x as a failed pattern 21112 - yyxyxy with y to complete the pattern, x as a failed pattern 123 stairstep - xyxxyxxx with y to complete the pattern, x as a failed pattern 321 stairstep - yyyxyyx with y to complete the pattern, x as a failed pattern 211 mirror - xxyxyxy with y to complete the pattern, x as a failed pattern These are examples of the patterns.

Do you also need to store the completion of the patterns in anyway so that you can look up later for instance? Yes, to determine probability of pattern completing.

Also, in terms of the user interface, what standard would you be expecting? not sure what you mean, as long as it alerts me with the history so i can get the sequence and probability is the main thing.

Do you expect to see graphs or just textual representation of the patterns detected?

Graphs are not really necessary but would be handy to see what the recent x to y ratio is at any given time.

I have another programmer who is looking at it this week as well, however I will let you know that I have a lot of data that proves these formulas for unravelling a way these random number generators work and been successful.

Thanks for the questions. Can you tell me where you are based?

Thanks Doug

Hi Doug, Thank you for your detailed answer. I am based in Brisbane. It would be great to take a look at the spreadsheet you've mentioned.

Hi Phillip i sent the spreadsheet via a pm last night thanks doug
