About the project

I've been enquiring around about finding a copywriter to take over the writing of our newsletter (our current writer is leaving soon).

We are an investment company that specialises in automated forex and equities systems. One of our services is a weekly "market wrap" newsletter that focuses on world market news.

There is no "market predictions" or "speculation" involved in the newsletter, it's really just reporting on economic events.

I've attached a copy of one of our newsletters, with notes made about the research process.

I'm a freelance writer with business and law degrees, have worked as a Forex trader and on some financial law issues. I have written several economics and legal articles, including an economic review of Madagascar for The African Association of Entrepreneurs which won the UN Volunteers 2013 award.

Rather than hourly, I charge per article size allowing more consistent and predictable budgeting for clients. I charge $70 per 1,000 words, so for 500-800 words it would be $35-56 per weekly article (roughly $140-224 per month).

Hello ICM, I am a professional freelance journalist and communications professional. The bulk of my experience is within the business media - which I enjoy immensely.
My previous experience that is relevant to this role includes Business Spectator and Eureka Report where I wrote the daily market wrap report, stock recommendations and was a ghostwriter for a prominent fund manager. I have also had many years experience writing/copy writing company newsletters. My most recent project was creating the internal newsletters (industry news) for Time Warner group companies in the USA and South America.
I am also a meticulous editor and proofreader.

I write blogs and newsletters for a range of clients covering a variety of topics. Would you be providing the list of topics with references that you would like covered per newsletter. Or does the writer need to source all content from those site references I will be placing a price when I have this information Thank you

    • Andrew G. Client 30 Apr 2014 at 16:11

The topics are the same each week: International Market News, Australian Market News, Currency News (Forex) and Commodities News (Futures).

For each of these topics, you will simply be taking the top 1 or 2 economic news stories (from the sources provide) and rewriting the content.

When our writer is away I write this newsletter myself - it's a surprisingly fast process as I simply review the top economic news events for each category above and put my own spin on the news stories - more like ghostwriting than copywriting.
