We need a potentially large quantity of scanned books proof-read and accurately formatted.
Documents have been processed with Optical Character Recognition and exported as Word files, but will need to be checked against original scans for typographical and formatting errors, and any corrections will need to be marked up. No rewriting is needed, just making sure the documents match the original — though obvious typos in the original should be marked up.
A small number of Word character and paragraph styles (eg italics/bold, chapter heading/opening paragraph/normal paragraph) will also need to be applied to match the original.
Excellent attention to detail and familiarity with spelling/grammar/punctuation conventions will be very helpful. Please quote for 80,000 words.
UPDATE 22 MAY 2020
Thanks everyone who has responded so far. The project has been delayed slightly but has confirmed funding for an initial run of digitisations with the potential for many more later in the year.
Once the titles start coming in we will be in touch with suitable candidates to confirm your availability. If you need to update your response please do so.
Sorry for the delay and look forward to getting in touch soon.
